Our campaign to support the urgent need for clean water

operationlovemyanmar3
Operation Love Myanmar (OLM) is an initiative of Relief Singapore, dedicated to addressing the humanitarian crisis brought about by ongoing civil conflict and natural disasters like Typhoon Yagi. By working closely with partners such as the Center for Sustainable Humanitarian Action with Displaced Ethnic Communities (SHADE), OLM ensures that aid reaches even the most remote and hard-hit communities in Myanmar.

Relief Singapore and Wateroam are raising funds to provide essential ROAMfilters water filtration systems to civilians affected by the floods. These efforts are part of a larger relief campaign coordinated by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (Changi RHCC).

Will you help us save lives?

Typhoon Yagi has caused widespread destruction across Southeast Asia, particularly affecting Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand. The aftermath of this disaster has left thousands of families displaced and without access to clean water.

An estimated 1 million people in Myanmar are affected by flooding from heavy monsoon rains and Typhoon Yagi

More than 360 people have reportedly drowned, with at least 100 more missing due to the severe flooding. The floods have caused widespread devastation, submerging thousands of crops, farmlands, and livestock, leading to substantial losses in the livelihoods of affected communities.

Our Impact So Far

We have delivered vital aid to over 200,000 individuals, providing emergency shelters, medical supplies, clean water and food. Through partnerships with local communities, government agencies and international organizations, we’ve been able to respond rapidly to emergencies, delivering hope and relief to those in desperate need.

We have mobilized the first round of goods, but there is still so much more to be done.

In response, Relief Singapore is urgently appealing for donations to provide ROAMfilter Plus filtration systems to civilians in Vietnam who are struggling to find safe water for drinking, cooking, and daily use. Floodwaters have contaminated water sources, making it unsafe for consumption.

The ROAMfilter Plus from Wateroam is an affordable and highly effective solution capable of producing clean water for affected communities. Your donations will directly fund these water filters, offering an immediate and life-saving resource for those in need.

When disaster strikes, communities without safe drinking water are victim to water-borne illnesses, extreme dehydration and even death.  People around the world fall ill on a regular basis because they still lack a clean source of water.
Your support, pooled with the other contributions, will help us provide safe drinking water and critical aid to marginalized groups. These include children living in disaster zones and families living in rural regions all around the world.

We work closely with Relief Singapore to provide customized aid to the local communities. OLM will collaborate with regional humanitarian partners with the capabilities to forward aid to local CSOs (Civil Society Organisations) in Myanmar that are responding on the ground. These CSOs will do the last mile delivery and distribution to civilians taking refuge in emergency shelters and IDP camps, and those who are unable to flee their homes.
